World Book Day

2023 - As part of World Book Day celebrations this year, we had local Author and Illustrator - Bec Tonks - visit school. She completed workshops with children in all year groups on building characters and how these can be used in stories. Children also looked at how authors/illustrators turn ideas from their stories in to bookmarks. There has been some super work and all children enjoyed it!

Children have held Book Blankets / Campfires within class and everyone was asked to put a book inside an envelope so we can't judge books by their covers. All children were able to engage in meaningful Book Talk - and they loved it!

We also made a Reading Escape Room and the usual dress up activities happened! Look at all the fun we had!

World Book Day

As always, there was a fantastic turn out of book-inspired character costumes for World Book Day. Which characters can you spot??

Children were asked to create a "Story in a Jar" as part of World Book Day celebrations. Mrs Rowley was in awe at some of the creations. It was so hard to pick winners!!

There are lots more pictures in the gallery - check out the links in the sidebar to see all of these!
