About Us

Our Headteacher, Mr Pearson, recently received the fantastic news that he is to become an MBE!

"I am completely humbled to receive this phenomenal honour which came as a complete shock to me when I received an email from the Cabinet Office last month. I passionately believe that I am receiving it on behalf of my colleagues, loved ones, friends, hardworking staff, governors and the parents and carers who have also worked so hard in supporting our school values.

When I became Head Teacher of New Invention Junior School I was committed to ensuring that the school raised aspirations for the benefit of the community and I am pleased that this achievement has been recognised on a national level. In my time at the school, Ofsted reported that we moved from Satisfactory to Good and then to Outstanding!

I have been lucky to work for over 25 years in education with unstinting determined peers who have all contributed to the success of the schools I have worked in, including caretakers, cleaning staff, office staff, teaching assistants, teachers, parents, governors and members of the senior management teams.

My parents and grandparents have all been hardworking, low paid working class folk, who never had the opportunity to access world-class higher education and pursue a career as I have.  I would like to pay tribute to the sacrifices everyone has made, including love and continued support from my wife and children."

New Invention Junior School is a three form entry Junior school on the borders of Walsall, Wolverhampton and Staffordshire. We have about 345 pupils, 30 members of staff, 12 governors and a chinchilla called Charlie.
