Main Barriers to Achievement
Whilst we recognise that each child is unique, some of the main barriers to achievement that our pupil premium children face are:
We aim to tackle these barriers by focusing resources, teaching, support and interventions to accelerate progress and to reduce the attainment gap between pupil premium and non-pupil premium children. We will also provide pupil premium children with a high quality learning environment to complete homework and other out of school learning activities, after school and during some holiday times. We will use funding and resources to improve pupil premium attendance and punctuality. Where appropriate we will provide mentoring and counselling to tackle emotional barriers to learning. We will also raise long term aspirations of pupil premium children by funding supra-curricular projects and out of school awe and wonder visits.

The pupil premium strategy will be reviewed at the end of the academic year (July 2018) however the impact of the current strategy is under constant review and changes will be made as and when required to ensure that pupil premium children are able to achieve the highest possible levels of achievement.
